Ostranauts 1.0 (Steam app 1022980) added 31 Steam achievements on the August 3, 2026 launch — the first time the long-running early-access build tracked profile unlocks. Unlike a short narrative game, this Ostranauts achievements list spans hundreds of hours: tutorial salvage, fusion reactors, Ceres Affair investigation threads, deep-system hops, and bounty combat. Verified August 16, 2026 · Steam.
Global unlock rates at launch tell a familiar story for hardcore sims: Traveller and Into The Black sit above 5%, while 79AU, Weaver's Needle, and most endgame station hops still read 0.0% — not because the feats are broken, but because most buyers are still paying OKLG debt. This page groups every official unlock by activity so you can chase them alongside normal play instead of treating 100% as a separate game.

The first dozen hours at OKLG naturally feed the salvage and start buckets. None of these need Ceres, Venus, or a finished fusion loop — they reward doing what the beginner guide already teaches.

| Achievement | Global rate | Official unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Traveller | 8.1% | Successfully generate a character |
| Into The Black | 5.6% | Undock from K-Leg for the first time |
| Tutorial Derelict | 2.2% | Complete the tutorial up to and including the first derelict |
| Return to K-Leg | 1.8% | Safely make it back to K-Leg with your first haul of salvage |
| Entrepreneur | 4.1% | Sell something at a kiosk |
| Legal Salvager | 2.6% | Buy an official Salvage License from the kiosk on K-Leg |
Traveller fires when you finish Build-a-Resume and spawn aboard your loan ship — every profile gets it. Into The Black needs one successful undock from K-Leg; if you panic on RCS, practice in the tutorial lane before committing. Pair with the beginner guide EVA prep section so your first departure is not also your first vented hab.
Tutorial Derelict tracks the guided wreck through your first derelict boarding — follow the on-screen prompts through airlock, strip, and return. Return to K-Leg confirms you docked safely with salvage in cargo — dying on EVA or abandoning loot does not count. These two are the achievement mirror of the salvage guide first-run checklist.
Entrepreneur is the simplest economy unlock: sell anything at any kiosk. Scrap counts — feed it a cracked tile on day one. Legal Salvager needs the official Salvage License from OKLG (~5k / 24h per the money guide). Buy the permit on a day your airlock already holds Licensed-tier modules so both achievements and profit land together.
Ship achievements assume you moved past loan-ship survival: a working reactor, nav console upgrades, and time in the Ship Editor. Crew achievements need social systems — recruitment and station medical care.

| Achievement | Global rate | Official unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Reactor | 0.0% | Build a working reactor |
| Custom Console | 1.4% | Install a new module into your nav console |
| Ship Editor | 2.2% | Open the ship editor and (optionally) get creative |
| Firm Handshake | 0.3% | Convince a spacer to join your crew |
| Health-Fare | 0.8% | Use the Medical Kiosk on K-Leg |
| Super Fast Forward | 1.6% | Skip an hour or more of time |
Reactor demands a working fusion reactor aboard your hull — not merely owning parts. Route Sulaiman ICFR feed ports, purge sequence, and breaker output until the grid stays stable under load. The reactor guide walkthrough matches this unlock; brownouts during startup do not count as "working."
Custom Console unlocks when you install a new module into your nav console — treat it as a ship-building puzzle, not a store purchase. Ship Editor only asks you to open the editor; patch one floor tile or move a crate if you want the achievement without a full refit. See ship building for grid layers and conduit rules.
Firm Handshake rewards convincing a spacer to join your crew through the recruitment social-combat flow — salary, Death Pay, and trait compatibility matter. Health-Fare is simpler: use the Medical Kiosk on K-Leg once. Burned spacers and failed EVA runs make the clinic visit natural; see crew guide before you hire three specialists you cannot feed.
Super Fast Forward triggers when you skip an hour or more of time from the time controls while safely docked or in a stable hab. Use it during long reactor charge waits — not while suffocating on EVA.
The economy column rewards systems the money guide covers: Gig Nexus contracts, Fixer access, bulk cargo profit, asteroid mining, and faction scrip. Most sit in mid-game when OKLG debt is boring but deep-space fuel still costs real dollars.

| Achievement | Global rate | Official unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Gignexus | 1.6% | Complete a gig |
| Black Marketeer | 1.1% | Convince the Black Market Fixer to trade with you |
| Cargo Trader | 0.0% | Make a profit on long haul cargo trading |
| Asteroid Miner | 0.0% | Successfully mine an asteroid deposit! |
| Sixteen Tons | 0.0% | Earn scrip from a faction |
Gignexus completes when you finish any Gig Nexus job — OKLG courier gigs inside the station count before you own a flying hull. Black Marketeer needs the Fixer in Mescaform bar to trade with you, either by winning the opening social combat or reaching Friend status (or starting with Fixer as a Build-a-Resume contact). Both pair naturally with Entrepreneur kiosk sales on the same dock day.
Cargo Trader checks profitable long-haul bulk trading between Cargo Kiosks — you need pod mounts, stock capital, and a route that beats salvage hourly rate. Asteroid Miner needs a successful asteroid deposit extraction — tooling, RCS, and often a stable reactor. Sixteen Tons tracks earning scrip from a faction; faction jobs and standing gates live deeper in the sim than day-one scrap runs.
Four achievements — PPP, Ms M, VHS, and 79AU — form the Ceres Affair investigation cluster. Steam describes them as uncovering secrets, a missing lounge singer, V.H.S. tape origins, and finally the whole truth. All four still showed 0.0% global at 1.0 launch — expect multi-station clue chains, not a single dialog button.
| Achievement | Official unlock | Route note |
|---|---|---|
| PPP | Uncover the secrets of the Perpetual Protein Project | Perpetual Protein Project — follow station rumors and job board leads |
| Ms M | Uncover the location of the missing lounge singer | Missing lounge singer — bar NPC threads on OKLG and outbound stations |
| VHS | Uncover who made the V.H.S. tapes | V.H.S. tape authorship — loot + dialog cross-checks |
| 79AU | Uncover the whole truth | Capstone — requires prior clue threads; plan before selling quest items |
Investigation items often behave like physical loot — stashing them in the wrong crate or selling them at the Scrap kiosk can soft-lock branches until you find a duplicate. Keep a quest crate aboard pressurized hab space and label it in your head the same way you label premium salvage.
PPP (Perpetual Protein Project) and Ms M (missing lounge singer) are the usual mid-layer gates. Talk to every named NPC in Mescaform after gig runs; cross-reference Fixer chatter with Gig Nexus flavor text. Players report lounge-singer leads mixing station bar scenes with off-station destinations — bring a legal transponder before chasing flags.
VHS asks who produced the V.H.S. tapes — expect mixed media loot, derelict logs, and dialog trees. 79AU is the whole truth capstone; do not rush it on a ship that cannot reach Ceres, L.A., or other late-map nodes. LA Unlocked (transit to the bottom of L.A.) overlaps exploration achievements — route them on the same save when you commit to the Affair.
Exploration achievements punish short-loop debt grinders: Untime, Flotilla, Weaver's Needle, Venus, Ceres, Slow Boat ferry rides, and LA Unlocked. Bounty achievements need weapons online — Fire At Will! and Bounty Hunter — plus Racer for Aero Race victory.

| Achievement | Global rate | Category |
|---|---|---|
| Untime | 1.2% | exploration |
| Flotilla | 0.3% | exploration |
| Weaver's Needle | 0.0% | exploration |
| Venus | 0.0% | exploration |
| Ceres | 0.0% | exploration |
| LA Unlocked | 0.0% | exploration |
| Slow Boat | 0.4% | exploration |
| Racer | 0.0% | bounty |
| Fire At Will! | 0.0% | bounty |
| Bounty Hunter | 0.0% | bounty |
Untime marks your first full Untime — a major time / travel milestone in the 2079 map. Flotilla and Weaver's Needle need deliberate deep-space routing, spare RCS, and often a fusion-powered hull. Register your transponder via the transponder guide before hostile scan zones turn detours into combat.
Venus and Ceres unlock on first successful dock at any station in those regions — fuel planning and life support margins matter more than raw distance. LA Unlocked requires reaching the bottom of L.A. and unlocking transit — overlap with Ceres Affair threads; do not treat it as a sightseeing hop.
Slow Boat rewards using the Ferry instead of your own ship — useful when your hull is illegal or vented. Racer needs an Aero Race win — a combat / piloting skill check separate from salvage. Budget repair kits and med supplies.
Fire At Will! triggers the first time you manually fire a ship weapon — install a turret or railgun, load ammo, and trigger from the combat UI. Bounty Hunter needs a completed bounty cashed in at a posting terminal; the money guide bounty section covers prep. Alive captures often pay more but need restraint gear and cargo space.
Every row below quotes the official Steam description from the 1.0 listing. Global rate snapshots come from public Steam stats at launch — they shift as more players finish long arcs. Sort mentally by rate when planning: anything above ~2% is early-run territory; 0.0% rows are endgame or story-gated.

| Fire At Will! | 0.0% | bounty | Fire a ship weapon manually |
| Bounty Hunter | 0.0% | bounty | Cash in a completed Bounty |
| Slow Boat | 0.4% | exploration | Take the Ferry somewhere rather than flying your own ship there |
| Firm Handshake | 0.3% | crew | Convince a spacer to join your crew |
| Super Fast Forward | 1.6% | misc | Skip an hour or more of time |
| Ship Editor | 2.2% | ship | Open the ship editor and (optionally) get creative |
| Health-Fare | 0.8% | crew | Use the Medical Kiosk on K-Leg |
There is no ironman 100% speedrun — Ostranauts is a sandbox debt sim — but this phased route minimizes backtracking on a single long save plus one fresh profile if you want Traveller again.
Everything except Traveller can live on one captain if you avoid permadeath. Hardcore players sometimes spin a story save once fusion power and legal registration are solved, keeping investigation crates separate from experimental PvP hulls.
If end-of-shift mortgage still hurts, ignore Weaver's Needle and 79AU until salvage income is routine. Achievement hunting should not vent your hab — dead captains unlock nothing.
Most stalled achievement profiles are not missing hidden triggers — they are missing ship capability or clue custody.
| Mistake | Achievements hurt | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Selling investigation loot at Scrap | PPP · Ms M · VHS · 79AU | Quest-dedicated crate; never auto-sort story items |
| Illegal transponder on deep routes | Venus · Ceres · Flotilla | Transponder guide before leaving K-Leg bubble |
| Reactor parts installed but not purged | Reactor | Follow ICFR startup through stable breaker output |
| Bronze-tier gig after fee | Gignexus (done) but wasted capital | Accept gigs you can finish Platinum |
| Crew hire without payroll | Firm Handshake follow-through | Budget salary before social combat |
| Combat bounty before med stock | Bounty Hunter | Fund clinic visits and suit patches first |
31 on the 1.0 Steam listing (app 1022980).
At launch, Weaver's Needle, 79AU, PPP, Ms M, VHS, and most deep-station hops showed 0.0% global — story and exploration gates.
Yes — same Steam account and cloud rules as PC; unlocks appear on the Steam community profile.
Traveller, Into The Black, Tutorial Derelict, Return to K-Leg, Entrepreneur, Ship Editor, Super Fast Forward, and often Legal Salvager / Gignexus if you follow the beginner guide.
Treat PPP, Ms M, VHS, and 79AU as missable if you sell clue items or skip dialog branches — keep backups before major story beats.
Bounty Hunter and Fire At Will! — see money guide for 1.0 bounty prep.
Beginner guide · salvage · reactor · money depending on which achievement bucket you are chasing.
